Introduction
GoNative is an Egyptian entity with two expansive showrooms, each spanning 1,700 square meters, and an online platform supporting over 170 local brands. Despite its impressive scale, the brand's previous identity lacked strategic depth and cultural resonance. The goal was to redefine GoNative as a bold, authentic representation of Egypt, aligning with its mission to elevate the local market while crafting an innovative, culturally rich identity.
Strategy
The rebranding centered on dissolving the word “Go” in the logo to highlight “Native,” emphasizing its connection to Egyptian roots. A new color palette inspired by Egypt’s hues—the Nile’s blues, desert sands, and architectural tones—created a strong cultural association. The strategy also included launching Native Merch, a sub-brand featuring emblematic Egyptian motifs like scarabs and winged eyes, further aligning GoNative with its mission of celebrating and empowering local talent.
Design
The redesigned logo incorporated an abstract pictogram embedded in “Go,” serving as a versatile standalone symbol. Egyptian-inspired textures and patterns were blended with modern typography to balance tradition and contemporary appeal, while the merchandise designs for Native Merch showcased iconic Egyptian symbols, making the visual identity cohesive, fresh, and deeply rooted in cultural authenticity.
Results
The rebranding elevated GoNative’s recognition by creating a stronger association with its Egyptian identity. Customers resonated with the fresh, culturally rich visuals, leading to increased engagement and the rapid success of Native Merch. By boldly embracing its roots, GoNative established itself as a leader in the local market, redefining how Egyptian brands can innovate and inspire.
